 Began her teaching career as a professor of history at Wilson College (2 years) before moving on to Elmira College (1922-36), academic dean at Milwaukee-Downer College (5 years), dean of women at Rhode Island State College (1941-45), visiting professor at Temple University (1945-46), head of history and political science department at Associated Colleges of Upper New York (4 years), dean of academic administration at Champlain College (1950-1953), and taught at Harper college from 1953 until she retired in 1965.

 Honorary degree: Doctor of Law from Wilson College 1939
