Rida Johnson Young

Rida Johnson Young left Wilson before graduating in 1892 to do publicity and write songs for a music publishing house. She wrote 25 plays and operettas which were produced on Broadway and more than 500 songs in her career. Her most well-known songs were “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life” from Naughty Marietta and "Mother Machree" from Barry of Ballymore.
