2001-2011: Lorna Edmundson
Lorna Duphiney Edmundson was inaugurated as Wilson's president on Oct. 6, 2001.Edmundson graduated from Columbia University's Teachers College and Columbia's Graduate School of Business executive program. She was a J. William Fulbright Research Scholar to Japan, in residence at Tokyo Women's Christian University. She served as president of the Association of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC), Trinity College of Vermont, and Vermont chapter of International Women's Forum.
During her tenure, the Harry R. Brooks Center for Science, Mathematics, and Technology was built. The college’s financial state was strengthened through expanding the college’s investments, increasing the endowment fund, and improving the grant programs. As President, she saw Wilson College make national rankings as a part of U.S. News and World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” for nine years in a row. After serving as president for ten years, Edmundson resigned from the presidency in June 2011.
