2011-2019: Barbara Mistick
Barbara Mistick was appointed President of Wilson College on July 1, 2011.
President Mistick earned her bachelor's in business administration from Carlow College, her master's in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, and a doctorate in management from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Business. She previously served as the director of The National Education Center for Women in Business and was associate professor of entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to her appointment at Wilson, Dr. Mistick was president of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
During her time at Wilson, Mistick led the College through the decision to become a co-educational institution in order to increase enrollment. She also spearheaded the re-imagining of the John Stewart Memorial Library. opening the library, renovating residence halls, creating the quad, realigning the main entrance to campus,
Under Mistick’s tenure, the College’s enrollment double, programs were added to the course catalogue, coeducation was expanded, facilities were renovated and improved, and an effort was made to find ways to lower tuition. An example of this is the loan buy-back program that was instituted.
President Mistick resigned in April 2019 and officially left the post in August 2019 to become president of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) in Washington, D.C.
