Helen Beard '36

Helen Beard '36 earned her Ph.D in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1940. She taught at Newcomb College at Tulane University before moving on to SUNY-Binghamton, where the Helen P. Beard award for excellence in Undergraduate Mathematics is named in her honor. She had sabbaticals at Stanford University and the University of CA at Berkeley.
