Sarah Carr McComb '27
Sarah Carr McComb ‘27 was the great-great niece of Sarah Wilson. She earned a degree in Library Science from Carnegie Institute of Technology (later Carnegie Mellon University) and was librarian at the Latrobe Public Library. In 1958 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from St. Vincent College on the occasion of the dedication of their new library. She was lauded as, “One of our most respected and civic-minded women whose life has been lived in the service of her fellow citizens lifting their sights and opening their eyes to broader horizons, particularly by artfully alluring young explorers into the countries of the mind and gently guiding them to the lofty hilltop where they may catch the dawn of wonder upon.”
